Conservative Blogs

One of the great aspects of this site is freedom of Speech. People from all sides are allowed to post their ideas, beliefs and thoughts. Everyone is permitted to post what they have to say without fear of censorship. As long as it comports with decant language, profanity is not permitted, but any socialist could post his ideas on communism, free market, or labor and would expect and receive a fair discussion of their ideas.

Suzie has disagreed with me before on ideas, especially methods of solving problems, but no one has ever censored anything I have written on this site.

Someone has suggested that we apply separation of Church and State to this website.

His quote "This is a poitical website as yu well know....Long biblical quotes belong on a religious website...Separation of Church and State is a cardinal principle in this great country of ours..." (all spelling and grammar errors are his. He calls them abbreviations.)

His argument is this is a political web site not a religious one, although he does not object to Chaplin RC Lewis' religious pages or the Prayer circle that is part of this site, just my commentary. He objects to my "Lengthy quotes of scripture" in a political blog. He objects because "no one uses other Holy Scripture" (I assume he means the Koran, Book of Mormon or to Buddhist writings, things similar to that). His problem with this argument is I have used other writings including the Koran, to prove points under discussion; also he has never written anything with any Scripture that was censored and was never told he could not do so. No one has ever been censored for quoting their form of scripture.

However because I post things that make him feel bad (He has an aversion to truth)he wants to impose censorship rules on this site. He is a Satanist, who objects to public discourse of true religion. That can only be his true reason for now wanting censorship in place. Anyone who has read my Blogs or more than two of them, and I have been writing here for over 5 years, is familiar with my signature to my Blogs. Anyone offended by my writing has only to quit reading them to stop being offended.

My Bio posted on this site contains the following

"As a Christian I am concerned about the impact our society has on politics and our politics has on society. I am not concerned about the Political party of a person but their moral values, sense of duty and their personal honor. I am concerned about what is right."

As I have posted before in a Blog "My Religion is my Politics" Get ready (Spoiler alert: Scripture about to be quoted) 1 Corinthians 10:31Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.

As to the matter of separation of Church and State, his quote that "Separation of Church and State is a cardinal principle in this great country of ours..." is just on more of his lies to try to influence the less informed people who get their news from CNN. The truth is that this was a one way wall to keep the state out of the churches, not to keep the influence of the Church from the Government. In his letter to the Danbury Baptist pastors, Thomas Jefferson first wrote the Phrase of "Separation of Church and State" and it contains an interesting Phrase that Satanist who want to remove all reference of God from the public sector often ignore "the legitimate powers of government reach actions only, & not opinions," This is the key to understanding the so called wall as a restriction on Government only.

"Believing with you that religion is a matter which lies solely between Man & his God, that he owes account to none other for his faith or his worship, that the legitimate powers of government reach actions only, & not opinions, I contemplate with sovereign reverence that act of the whole American people which declared that their legislature should "make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof," thus building a wall of separation between Church & State.

I reciprocate your kind prayers for the protection & blessing of the common father and creator of man, and tender you for yourselves & your religious association assurances of my high respect & esteem."

(signed) Thomas Jefferson

So his concept of "Cardinal principle" that is no where to be found in the Declaration of Independence or our Nations Constitution, is one more fiction in his mind, a deliberate lie to suppress free thought. An action of Satanists, Democrats, Socialists, and a principle of Alinsky's "Rules for Radicals, is to lie to suppress free thought. Censorship is an insult to free thought, and a tool for those who want to be Dictators; if you disagree state your points offer a separate solution, write your own post, or just ignore what you don't like. Do not try to stop open discussion, do not shut off free debate on any subject. The legitimate powers of government reach actions only, & not opinions.

As I am not using force on anyone to make them comply with my ideas of religion, and I am not restricting anyone from expressing theirs, and I am not a Government or agency of it; his argument for separation even under the Constitutions first Amendment is nothing more that another lie, intended to deceive people from hearing truth. Under the Constitutions First Amendment I do have the right to free Speech, which he wants to restrict. He has said that, I can not keep him honest, he is right, no one can keep a habitual liar like him honest.

God Bless.

Just my thoughts for today.

And I should also state that I now believe I was wrong in my first assessment and my re-action to these discussions. I sent  warnings to those involved and I had even asked Denis not to post under Hugh's posts- so in essence I did ask for self- censoring. But in doing so I was censoring... so I will remedy this with Denis...After all now I have to live up to being the non censoring admin Hugh spoke of!!LOL! I do try to always be fair- but I was wrong in this case...

    Thanks

I believe I should make a statement regarding Hugh's position on this site. Hugh is a Charter Member, who joined in '09. Hugh has written over 500 blogs for this site. I requested Hugh take the Society Desk in our Editorial section - the decision was made because I have the utmost respect Hugh and his ability to relate the circumstances of today's society to biblical references. So in essence he is posting what I requested of him and luckily for me he did not have to change his writing  to meet my request. I can vouch for his absolute consistency.

I am not what I would call a Religious person, although I do believe in a power greater then myself... Hugh and I have had disagreements- we work through them via discussion.

Certainly folks have freedom of choice they can choose Religion or Not- just as they can also choose to read this post or Not

My personal opinion is that the 25+ years of demoralization this society has been subjected to- was the beginning of the demise of our society. Removing God or Biblical references from public places, removing the Pledge from schools, even removing the concept of the Golden Rule, has allowed folks to close their conscience to the point that folks can now walk past a dying person or even watch someone being beaten and not stop to lend a hand. They have not only removed  God but also they have vilified the entire concept of being a decent person. People find comfort in Gods words.  (I apologize I had trouble putting this thought into words.. I hope you can understand my point.)

But separation of Church and State is a different subject, we must remember that the FF were of different faiths mostly Christians but they had differing opinions... The Constitution we live by was written utilizing Christian values

Therefore as the admin of the site, the viewers are correct this is a political website -but today's politics in general makes me want to Pray!

So the bottom line is read the post if you want to - you may comment if you agree or disagree- however that is still your choice!

    • Yes Suzie, I too respect Hugh. He and I hold different approaches to navigating life's path. My choice works for me and Hugh's works for him.

      I think respect is key.

I have felt that Hugh respects me even when he is aware that I am a non believer and that felling tells me that he is a good soul.

My life experience has been that as a non believer those who are have a difficult time wrapping their heads around that but that is ok with me. Hugh has posed questions to me that challenge my beliefs. That is fine with me. One thing that I have concluded is that neither one of will change our belief system. Therefore the choice comes down for me is to allow space for each other.

Hugh's post are well thought out and from his heart. Enough for me.

    • Good points, and Thanks Suzie.

All honest opinions and questions are welcome, and I will try to answer all questions asked in an honest manner. Meaning that you are not trying to cause discord but asking for clarification of points, or offering a dissenting opinion. Please try for clarity to help me understand your questions, please be civil and I will do the same.

I do believe that if we are all in agreement we are not using our full minds.

      God Bless.

      • Since I am not able to interpret the bible to relate to present days situations, I only ask that the quotes be interpreted for me and others like me as I would like to participate in all discussions I can.  I posses a great deal of experience but not formally educated so help me and others like me understand your points.  I want what is best for the whole world, not just me.  If I thought that removing god from the public view caused a deterioration in society I would campaign for it's reinstatement.  In fact I already have tested a plan to bring up generations of children who care but I can't find the people who care to start the campaign.  It's so simple, too, and doesn't alienate anyone and doesn't really cost anything.

        • Write up your plan and post it. I would like to see what you have to say.

  • Religious preference is a personal choice and belongs in one's personal life, not in the public forum.  The bible is open to interpretation and people certainly take advantage by interpreting the quotes to their own beliefs.  Religion needs to stay within the confines of a group and not forced into everyone's ears.  Religious people have enough trouble obeying the Ten Commandments let alone pushing others around.  Not everyone needs religion to have a correct moral compass.

    • Joel,  First I wanted to thank you for reading and replying to my posts in discussions.  And, Yes, I have read them.  Second, I cannot reply to any discussions at this time.  Why?  Nobody knows.

Third,  If one sees or thinks there is a post pertaining to religion, they are free not to participate.  Likewise, so are those who want to post them.

Fourth, Thank Heavens (literally) that I can reply to blogs.

    • Do you hold islamists to that same standard?

Can we tell them that they have a right to their private beliefs but they can't be allowed in the public forum or to even campaign for mosques since that would be forcing it into our ears?

      • Roger, I don't discriminate-I dislike all religions the same.  I believe in a higher authority, higher than all religions put together.  I don't understand what you say about campaigning for mosques by Islamists.  By the way, what contributions have Islamists made to America or the world for that matter.  To make myself clear, I don't want to go to a meeting and have to listen to a prayer to help the leaders make an intelligent decision, it scares me they don't think they have the ability to do the right thing to begin with.  Before you defend yourself, please try to see my point of view.  By the way, if you want to say something profound, please do so in your own words and not that of some ancient person so I know that you understand the same as I do.  I don't understand the ancient language.  In fact, I met a rabbi who couldn't explain Talmud passages as well as I could and I have no formal knowledge.
